A natural frontman, Nic gives extra energy to the music, quickly creating a rapport with the audience. His lyrics and unique vocal style are the perfect foil for Neale's guitar hooks.

Even during his somewhat manic teenage years, Nic has always written songs. Even before he could play an instrument he would always hear them completed; the only trouble was how to get them out onto tape.... Whether it were these frustrations or typical teenage boredom, Nic soon ended up with the wrong group of people, frequently finding himself in trouble. Only when things got really out of control did he realise it was time to sort himself out. Though it took a few more misadventures, he finally found a sense of purpose.

Always a prolific songwriter, the only problem was which direction to go in, as he kept coming up with songs of all styles - known to carry around scraps of paper and a pen where ever he goes, he has cd's full of ideas, notebooks full of lyrics. Even in the days of his first bands residency at one of Brighton's best-loved venues, he was getting a good reputation for inventive and catchy lyrics, and a great performance.

Always on the lookout for new styles, new sounds, a sudden crisis lead him to abandon his media course and go abroad, travelling to eastern Europe for a year before coming back refreshed and with a new sense of purpose.

It wasn’t until Shooter that he felt he had found a group of like-minded individuals, who functioned and complemented each other perfectly, both musically, and as a group. Seeming to grow in confidence as the band progresses, he always has a new angle on things, and is always ready with an idea.
