Neale Gray - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals

The 'talent-less' years
It all started around 1986 - me, Marky Mark, (not the one out of The New Kids), Paul "slap that head" Natty, (recently eloped to the US of A), and part time members Marcus "Mucus" Ellingworth and Adrian "err...Ade" Corner, formed ‘Under Oath’ a heavy metal cover band.....sort off. We had instruments, we had amps, we had a garage but sadly we never really had the ability ............. we never made it out of that garage.

Around 1988 - joined 'Disaster Area' as their vocalist, they were a rock cover band that a mate called Andy played drums for. It all came about after watching them practise one night, the lead 'egotistical' guitarist was singing but wanted to concentrate more on his guitar playing so I got roped in to sing. I never actually made it to a gig with them because me and Andy left before I had a chance. I did buy my first, and until recently only electric guitar from that egotistical guitarists though.

The 'verging on ability' years
around 1993 - 95 - some of my mates had a cheesy rock covers band called 'The Fat Wackers', (that's Wackers), Marky Mark, (see above), was playing Bass for them at the time...I just dabbled at Roadieing / PA ing. When Marky got promoted to 2nd guitar I moved in to play Bass. Around this time the band name was changed to 'Hair of the Dog'. Marky then got a job in Manchester so I moved to 2nd Guitarist and Natty filled up the Bass slot, we reformed each summer to play to the local crowd.
Gigs - Wheatsheaf, Newton-Le-Willows....more than once
Parties etc

The University Years
Me, Marky & Adam - I played drums on a one off collaboration with the blues legend that is Adam "flat top" Hope.

3 piece acoustic covers band - consisted of Me and Marky Mark on acoustic guitars/vocals and a fat bloke called Jimmy on the flute.....yes that's flute. We did one gig at Shamus O'Donnels in Sheffield........we got paid with free beer all night.....which was nice.

1996 - Me & Steve Askew - sort of covers fobbed off as originals duo, (well if you do Wedding Present covers no one will ever know). We played a Battle of the bands contest at The Baths in Scunthorpe...............we didn't win.

1996ish - Me & Marky (again), playing acoustic covers, we supported Steve Askews band, The Golightlys, at The Grapes in Sheffield.

The Working Years

April 2000 - Me & Marky did an acoustic covers set at 'Fridays' in Daventry, it was also Kareoke night.

2000 - joined a band with some geeza called Martin playing drums and some bloke, (that you might see down the lanes if your unlucky), playing bass. After one practice with a vocalist called Debbie, Lorraine joined and the band was named SOC385. We did original material but after one gig at the Freebutt in Brighton we sacked the bass playing nonce and reformed as...........

Protocol - with the addition of John on keyboards and Wayne on bass the full protocol line-up was formed.......................

...........and then colapsed, until.................Nick, Sarah and Brad joined, Shooter was formed, and the story continues.....

.....oh yes it continues...........your still reading this...........impressive..............anyway, Sarah left followed by Brad a few months later until........................Martin joined on Bass
